Julian Chapman is Forrest’s Vice-President, Coaching & Facilitation, accountable for delivery of the Forrest experience through the Forrest team of coaches, facilitators, consultants and trainers. In his role, Julian travels extensively assisting Forrest’s clients in designing solutions on how they can achieve extraordinary results using the Forrest methodologies.
Julian’s thoughts on leadership, organizational development and accountability have been published in HR Reporter Magazine, and HR Professional magazine.
Recent projects include:
- Articulating the strategy for a multi-national pharmaceutical firm seeking to enter the Canadian marketplace; designing its structure to fulfill this strategy
- Coaching the President & CEO of a technology leader; goals included refining strategy and structure, and positioning top talent within the organization to achieve strategy
- Developed a bespoke managerial framework for a major public utility and its subsidiaries; applied the framework from the top levels of the organization downwards and implemented a strong accountability culture
- Customized and instilled core leadership practices for the Canadian head office of a large multi-national banking corporation
- Created a novel managerial framework, imbuing the entire top team with visionary leadership skills
- Established a vibrant accountability culture within a major Canadian retailer resulting in superior sales
Julian is the Managing Director of the Centre for Effective Thinking, established by Forrest & Company to provide businesses with the tools to improve organizational thinking and performance. As such, he is one of a select few Master Trainers for Effective Intelligence™ in the world, and is the licensee for Effective Intelligence™ Mapping at Forrest.
Julian joined Forrest in 2002 after a stimulating career as a self-employed consultant, with clients such as Bombardier Aerospace and the Pearson Peacekeeping Centre. Julian is a strong supporter of our country’s Army Reserves: he is a Brigadier-General as well as Deputy Commander, Land Force Central Area / Joint Task Force Central.
Julian holds a BA from the University of Toronto and is a graduate of the Canadian Forces College and the U.S. Army War College. He lives in Toronto, is married with four children, and as a result, does not play golf well.
